Without a doubt, Asheron's Call. Sure, I may be a bit biased since I was on the beta team (and this was when beta testers actually tested the game, not a mere marketing tactic ("Pro-order the game and receive access to the beta..." Blah). Loved that game, especially in it's original incarnation with spell research! This fills the favorite MMO slot, for sure. A close second would be Eye of the Beholder. This is the first game that I played where I saw the sun come up the next day. Those darn thei-keen.... This would fill the favorite AD&D single player game. After that, we're looking at Phantasy Star II for favorite console game. I just loved that one on the Sega Genesis... Notice how they're all RPG's? Let me throw Urban Terror out there for favorite FPS game. I still play it. But, for the definitive, all time favorite game, Asheron's Call still holds a very special place in the old cardiovascular system. |
