Probably my absolute favorite role play world. I'm all about the Third Edition though, haven't cracked fourth, and am a bit frightened of Fifth. I got into it really bad just before the turn of the 2000s. Got nearly all the main sourcebooks for each class, as well as a couple equipment books. (I have a "Box of Shadowrun" in the basement.) Read all of them cover to cover, something I haven't even done with D&D. I even got so bad as to create my own custom stuff... before I even played one game. Like, realistic car models and such. It was... an obsession, really. My favorite and longest lasting character has to be Rook (aka Raven, aka "R") my Decker. During his five years of gameplay, I amassed over 100 Karma points, and was a pretty badass decker. One Hacking roll I made took 52 dice, and had (with "opening up" the dice) on the order of 40 successes. the GM was all, "Okay, you own this node. What do you want to do?" During one of my final appearances with that crew (I joined the military shortly thereafter), my character ended up sacrificing himself to save the team. An awesome way to go out for an awesome character. Any other Shadowrun aficionados? |

Yep, played a couple of different versions. My favorite run was down in to the crap, forget the corporation, but they basically had an archology set up from which we had to retrieve McGuffin. Well, the run lasted about 3 sessions and during the 3rd a new player came on board. Since we had to meet up in the archology he needed a cover story. "So...how'd you get down here all alone? This is a pretty dangerous place." "Yeah, I was actually down here with another group, but we were ambushed by a group of werewolves." "And you made it out? That's pretty tough." "Yeah, I shot them all in the legs so I could run away." "Right...well, this rope bridge is the way out. You hold this position and I'll cover you when it's your turn to cross." As soon as I crossed I turned around and shot him, then cut the bridge. |

Never trust anyone you run into in the arcology. Probably a Corp Runner. (It was probably either Renraku or Aztechnology... and if you were infiltrating Aztec... ) |

Don't even remember what version we played. 2 maybe? Had one character that was filled with bio tech and mech. Can't remember all the details now but he was pretty cool. |
