Been recommended and we plan to watch after all the season finales which will be soon. On another adjacent note, the brit version of this was exceptional as I recall from what I hear this is following closely in that mode.

I absolutely *adore* this series. Save for Hemlock Grove, Netflix is making pretty formidable ground by way of their original series', and it doesn't hurt that at least my generation is big on episodic bingeing, so being handed the entire series at one time without having to be strung along each week is pretty much a godsend in my opinion. It doesn't hurt that I'm a big fan of Kevin Spacey.
The writing for the most part is tight without any sort of entertainment value thrown in as per standard teleplays but I was annoyed *and this is a spoiler alert if you haven't watched the entire series yet*
that they carried along the storyline with Rachel (the escort/prostitute) til the very end. I almost gained some sort of reward for enduring it with Stamper being bludgeoned to death but it didn't really fit with his character that he would let something like that get out of hand and be so driven to obsession (although I get it, he was an addict, but at the same time there weren't enough triggers for me to actually believe that he had really fallen that far off the wagon, and that fast). I love love love the relationship between Claire and Frank, very modern in my opinion, and more of a partnership than an actual marriage. Diabolical, conniving, amoral and if in the hands of any other two actors I highly suspect their relationship wouldn't be the slightest bit realistic but it works and I was sold from the jump with them. And any show that's not afraid to kill off main characters in the way in which it does (hello incoming train!) always has my vote. I wouldn't pigeonhole it as solely a political drama though, kind of like a day in the life of a semi-closeted sociopath.
