Let's get this one out of the way. Y'all know I'm probably the biggest trekkie in WoC. Huge fan of all the shows and movies... though I admit to not being into the books so much.

Right... Roddenberry vs Abrams.

Personally, I see that JJ took the idea of Trek and made it a new thing for a new generation to enjoy. Sure, it's more action-y than Roddenberry's Trek, but that's what people want today. If they released Star Trek I in 2014, it would bomb hardcore. Hell, even Star Trek II, arguably the best of the bunch, wouldn't hold a candle to today's cinema appetite.

Was reading one of those Cracked lists that said Roddenberry was a nightmare to work with.

I love ST: OS, tNG and DS9. I did not like Voyager - at all.
