Yes that one. The one involving the most popular sport in the world and representatives of many nations around the world. The one the USA are doing quite well in. The one that shows the use of foot and ball rather than hand and ball. The one actually deserves its name as opposed to world series :P

North America != "The World". :P

Liam's a complete hooligan now. He's got a printed-out bracket so he knows when the games are on. tomorrow's going to be a big day. :D

Today he was channel flipping between the two stations that had the games... he was more interested in FRA v ECU than HON v SUI.

I was too lol They didn't show the Spain - Australia game on TV as it had no relevance. So I had the tv match in one corner and the Spain game on one of my PC screens.... :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

With today's losses, Liam was worried that US wasn't in it anymore. I had to show him the bracket, because I knew the only way we'd be eliminated is if the goal differential was huge (since Ghana lost). :)

To be fair, offside rules are a bit madness.

The Netherlands are also doing much better than expected, but it is still not quite clear how much of it is luck, and how much actual ability... So I guess that keeps it exciting ;-)

I am finding myself much more interested this year than years past.

Partially because the US is actually doing fairly well, and partially because my kid is going nuts over it. (And I kinda actually know what's going on most of the time.)

I'm still not very interested, but I might actually go and see our next match this Sunday with some people.

Currently supporting Team USA, having transferred my allegiance from the Orange Crush after Arjen Robbin's cheating theatrics.

Sorry Gerbs.

They were excellent, Tim Howard is a GOD! Nothing to be ashamed of, you were never going to win the whole thing this year but the performances you gave made me believe that that time is not so far away.

Sorry Gerbs.

Robbens is a dirty cheat, the Netherlands team are all dirty cheats :P (sorry Gerben)

On another note I am pretty sure the heat and humidity sapped every team in this world cup. I understand it is the world's sport and they want to spread the love (do not mention Qatar!) but maybe it could be played in more temperature times of year depending on location despite the mess up for the football leagues.

Brazil is equatorial. There are no temperate times of the year. ;)

And yeah, I was definitely impressed with our performance vs world class teams. Our keeper was amazing. Wow.

2018!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Brazil

Temperate zones and the temperature varies quite a bit as the country is so huge.
However they did play in Brazil's winter so god help them in 2022 in Qatar...
